A MATTER OF LIGHT AND BREATH

These paintings are part of my Polaroid series of paintings, started in 2009. Their ephemeral quality evokes the way a Polaroid photo slowly emerges into view but it’s as if their development has been arrested. Often seeming unfinished, they allude to the passing of time, fleeting moments gone and others still coming into being. In the end, what they seem to say is that we are made up of the intangible qualities of light and breath.
